WINNING THE BATTLE

   Posted by: pastordiehl   in A Mighty Fortress

‘A Mighty Fortress’ verse 2:

Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing,

Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing:

Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;

Lord Sabaoth His name, From age to age the same, and He must win the battle.

The message is obvious. On our own we cannot overcome our “ancient foe”. But with Jesus on our side, He fights our battles for us. He must win the battles in our lives or it is all lost. Turn to Jesus in all our daily struggles, for He is the Mighty Fortress.

What battles are you trusting Jesus to help you with today?

Not only turning to Jesus in our struggles, but also in our victories. If He is not the one who is glorified in our victories, then we lose. If we are not drawn to Him in our victories, we lose. If we are more confident in our abilities when we have a victory, we lose. Oh, the lie of that ancient foe…if he could but get Christians to glory in their victories, thinking it is God’s blessing…he would defeat us. It is only in God being glorified that we win, for it is truly God who has won.

i have had a continuing battle with panic attacks. I trust Jesus to help me fight the battle weighing heavy on me to. Also my blood pressure has dropped to a Too low level. i trust in Jesus to guide the doctor in the changes in my medication. I dont understand the battle with the panic attack. I pray for God to show me the reason and what to do about them. As of yet i do not see the answer. Maybe i am not seeing what i should see. I read a note today from a friend who said we ask God for something and wonder why we do not get what we ask for. If we ask for apples and God gives us pears we should thank him for he gave us what He knew we needed and after all it is all fruit. All pray for me to see the answers. i claim the healing God is giving me.
