Joan Turner is a mother who resides in Middleton, Rhode Island. She says, “I was at the beach with my children when my four-year old son ran up to me, grabbed my hand, and led me to the shore, where a sea gull lay dead in the sand.

“Mommy, what happened to him?” the little boy asked.

“He died and went to heaven,” I replied.

My son thought a moment and then said, “And God threw him back down?”

There are times when people’s answers aren’t enough. When we’re confused about life’s twists and turns, we are sometimes tempted to turn our back on God or question His promises. But please understand that God will never throw you back down. He loves you no matter what. Embrace that promise and ride out the storm.
