GOD’S ORDER
God does everything decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40). And yet there are times when it looks like things are out of order with God. He doesn’t always tip His hand and let us know what He’s up to. So, we don’t always perceive His order of things. An example of that is found in John 8:2&3: “And early in the morning He [Jesus] came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down, and taught them. And the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery and…they…set her in the midst“.
Now, everything was orderly when Jesus began to teach. But the order seemed to fall apart when the religious leaders came in with the woman they caught red-handed (so to speak) in bed with a guy. And she was probably still naked as they found her. Whatever Jesus had been teaching about was immediately forgotten as He lost control of the meeting. There was anger in the faces of the Pharisees, shame on the woman’s face, shock in the faces of the people, and frustration on Jesus’s face. All order was gone.
But, remember how Jesus got things back in order again? He transferred the shame to the accusers, and gave grace to the woman. And then He immediately transferred the incident back to what He really wanted to say: v. 12: “I am the light of the world; he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life“. He brought order out of chaos.
Are things out of order in your life? Maybe God is using this chaos to get you back on the right track. God is all about bringing things back into His order.
