REMEMBERING DELORIS

   Posted by: pastordiehl   in Remembering

Deloris Emerick passed away after a short battle with cancer. She was a hard worker and always seemed very responsible. I remember when Deloris first began attending Calvary Chapel (our former name). Christine Storrjohann was a bus kid who gave her life to Christ and became very involved in the church. She brought her parents, Bill and Helen Vallance to church and they also became committed. In turn, Helen brought her good friend Deloris. They always sat together in the back row and often brought other friends.

She always had an encouraging word when she waited on me at McDonald’s. What will you remember about Deloris?

I got acquainted with Deloris through the Secret Sister ministry in 2000. She was always so pleasant to be around. It was my delight to visit with her for a few minutes Easter morning. BJ and I send our sincerest sympaty to her family.

I worked with Deloris at McDonald’s when I was in high school. She was a very nice lady, hardworking and a real servant. I was sorry to hear of her passing and also offer my condolences to her family and friends.

I am sorry to hear about Deloris. Roger worked with her son Tom. We got to know them from church and other areas in our lives. She always seemed to smile and spread that smile to others. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

We foundly remember many years ago when the Waterloo Police Department Officers and Spouses had a gathering at Ernie and Deloris’s Cottage up in Michigan. We also remember many times when Ernie and Deloris would be at Bill and Helen Vallance’s house or visa versa and we too would be there to have a cook out and fellowship. What wonderful people they all were. We last got to see Deloris Easter Sunday at Church and as always she was smiling and enjoying herself. That is how we will remember her the most.

I knew Delores from a when i was a child. I was very close to her son Victor. Her son Tom worked with my son and Tom bought ground next to my son on CR 22. Delores was always so pleasant and caring. Her smiling face and loving presence will surely be missed by many.
