PASTOR ED

Posted by: pastordiehl   in Casting Out Cancer

Anita just fixed me a great pork tenderloin for Sunday dinner. That hit the spot because I had a bit of nausea this morning. She reminded me that I took an antibiotic this morning in preparation for having the catheter removed tomorrow. So I need to have a bit of food every now and then with this antibiotic. Other than that. I’m doing better each day.

We wanted to provide stability and security with me laid up from surgery, so we asked Pastor Ed Gungor to come in to preach this first weekend.  We knew he would be both light and heavy, and encourage everyone. I missed his message but am interested in what you think. Did we hit the mark? How’d he do?

Was great seeing an dhearing your update and introduction to Pastor Gungor. Looking forward to hearing your sermons again.

Pastor Gungor’s sermon was a reallly hit home with me, especially since I can relate to his airplane story.

You are in our thoughts and prayers on the way to a speedy recovery I’m sure.

Of course alot of sermons and teaching are hitting home for me right now. I go for another heart test in the morning and i am thanking God for letting this test show my physical heart will be ok and i can go on with the healing of the spiritual heart. You are in my prayers and please keep me in yours.

Pastor, Marie and I both agree that there is no one like you in the Pulpit however Pastor Gungor had an excellant message this morning.

He reminds us that as Christians our main objection is to deliver those who are still in the world while maintianing a close relationship with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

He made us realize that we need always to look at our fellow man not as a gender; race or creed but to see all humanity as someone much like ourselves who also feel the pain of emptyness and someone whom we should always try to help relieve that pain with the knowledge and Love of Jesus.

We are both praying now that we too can become better stewarts and serve our fellow man to help bring them to Christ.

Get well soon as we all continue to pray for your good health.

Pastor Gungor was absolutely amazing! I sat by Anita during first service this morning, and I’m not sure who made me laugh more, Pastor Gungor or her (let’s just say she was really enjoying herself…) :) He was right on the mark, very timely message we all needed to hear, and now we need to DO! Miss you! :)

Anita here, as I can’t get the computer to see me, but keeps saying “logged in as pastordiehl” I will have to get Nathan to straighten me out!

I thought Pastor Ed was just what we needed this weekend. We laughed and we needed that, but then he hit us deeply with truth.

I’ve always thought we have done a good job of accepting others, but as I look around at church, there are so many guests coming in to find ‘new hope’ and walk out without anyone talking to them. We all need to give a loving ear to someone to hear their ‘story’. What if our mission field is sometimes within our church walls?

Mom,
Just hit the ‘logout’ button below the ‘logged in as pastordiehl’ message. :)
I loved Pastor Ed’s line, ‘What if people aren’t coming to Christ because of us?’

Ouch…

I thought Pastor Ed did an awesome job communicating his message. He had plenty of good stories to relate to the message he wanted to get across. God really impressed upon my heart how we have to be doing God’s work in order to have the stories to tell. If we are willing to do what He asks, He will provide the circumstances for ministry and the testimony to help others understand His will. We give GOD all the glory for your progress!! He is truly GOOD ALL THE TIME!!

Pastor Ed “wowed” me a couple of times with very powerful statements. They were so beneficial to me as I try to care for people and encourage them, before I share the real cure for their ache. I’m certain that everyone on the Deacon board was helped.
We hope to see your smiling face very soon!
