TOO LATE

Posted by: pastordiehl   in Casting Out Cancer

This past week has been busy getting things ready for my surgery next week.  I’ve got some winterizing things I need to get done around the house, because I’m not supposed to be doing any straining for some time after the surgery.  I also need to make sure that everything is set for my absence at the church.  And, because I’m not a guy who likes to sit around and do nothing, I’m trying to save up light duty things that I can do at home for that period when I’m stuck there. Today Anita is picking up some prescriptions from the pharmacy that I need to start prior to the surgery.

My Mom used to say, “Be sure you wear clean underwear in case you have an accident”. Because this isn’t an accident or urgent emergency, we’ve had time to plan ahead and get all our ducks in a row ahead of time.

But, I wonder what people will think when the trumpet sounds, and Jesus comes back.  It will be too late to make any preparations then.  That’s what the Holy Spirit meant when He said, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion” (Hebrews 3:7-8).  Be sure that you are ready.  And I sure hope Anita remembered to wash my undies.

Laundry is done! Fridge is full, and we are blessed!

I recently found a plaque that I have above my kitchen cupboards that is an encouragement to me. Hope it is to you! “EVERYDAY IS A GIFT”

It’s not material things that matter, I’m ready!

Pastor and Anita

Our prayers, our faith, and our love is with you. Julie and I will be praying and thinking of you both on Monday morning. Who knows, maybe there will be a doctor or nurse who needs to know Jesus and you will be the instrument to bring them to Him. God bless, speedy recovery, GOD IS GOOD!!!

We will be praying too! And here I thought my mom was the only one who bugged her son about clean undies in case of an accident!
