Learning Lessons Together

Posted by: pastordiehl   in Casting Out Cancer

If you were in church this weekend (Oct 4 or 5) you know that I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Its in an early stage and is not life threatening unless I stick my head in the sand and hope it goes away, or try some unproven home remedy, like too many men do.

My faith is strong and I see the hand of God in and through this. I expect Him to teach me many lessons that I could not have learned otherwise. And, as a vessel of the Holy Spirit, I intend to pass those lessons and insights along to you through the whole process via this blog, which will be updated almost daily. We’ll walk through this together.

Anita and I need some space and time alone to process all of this until we’re on the other side, so although we appreciate your love and concern, we ask for your patience in getting your reliable news from this blog; its here especially for our church friends and family who are a powerful part of our lives. Stay tuned…

Pastor and Anita,

Thank you for your candor and allowing us to learn through your very personal experience. We love you both very much and will be upholding you in our prayers.

Pastor and Anita,
We pray that God guides you through this time and gives you and your family the strength, endurance and wisdom to get through this with His help, guidance and blessings.

Expecting to hear from me? :) Well, I can honestly say that this is one of the first times I’ve heard news like this and wasn’t all boo hooey and baffled on what to do with our last days together. I have full confidence that God will see us all through this, and as you said, teach us so much in the process. I’ll be praying a prayer of faith!

Thank you for taking time to share this private and serious matter with us. Please know that you are both loved and that you will be prayed for. Pastor, I too think that God will see you through this and the outcome will be just fine. I think this is just a bump in the road.

My philosophy is that if God leads you to it, He is going to see you through it! Two of my constant prayors for you are that God will grant you good health and He will give you the boldness you need to stand and preach the Word and never wavor.

Take care and God Bless you both.

Pastor and Anita,
My dad told me the other day when I called about this situation. I know that you both will make it through this and it will be such an amazing growing experience! I’m definitely praying for you! I love both of you and appreciate you both more than you will ever know. Thank you for being such an amazing example for me to look at in my walk with Christ!
